Supporting a young person who is struggling to access education can be emotionally exhausting and, at times, overwhelming. Families may find themselves trying to understand school attendance procedures, Education, Health and Care Plans, local authority responsibilities, alternative provision, formal correspondence and complaints — all while continuing to support a child who may be experiencing anxiety, burnout or distress. Best Foot Forward provides personalised education and mentoring for young people. However, we recognise that parents and carers may also need independent guidance to help them understand the wider systems and processes surrounding their child. For this reason, we are pleased to signpost families to SEND Stepping Stones.

Working Alongside Families
Best Foot Forward and SEND Stepping Stones provide separate but complementary services. Best Foot Forward focuses on delivering personalised tutoring, mentoring and alternative education directly to young people.

SEND Stepping Stones focuses on helping parents and carers develop the understanding, confidence and practical tools they need to navigate education and SEND processes.
By making families aware of both forms of support, we hope to ensure that the young person and the adults supporting them feel better informed, better connected and less alone.
