The Listening Path
Understanding begins with listening...
The Listening Path offers compassionate counselling and emotional well-being support for children, young people, and families.
Sometimes young people need a space where they feel truly heard. The Listening Path provides a calm, supportive environment where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences safely and without judgement.
Through supportive conversations and evidence-informed counselling approaches, young people can build confidence, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop strategies to manage life’s challenges.
Who We Support
The Listening Path supports:
-
Children and young people
-
Parents and carers
-
Families navigating emotional or educational challenges
-
Young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND)
-
Individuals with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Support is tailored to each individual’s needs, recognising that every young person’s experience and journey is unique.

How Counselling Can Help
Counselling provides a safe space to talk, reflect, and better understand emotions and experiences.
Support may include:
-
Anxiety and emotional distress
-
Low confidence or self-esteem
-
School stress or transitions
-
Emotional regulation
-
Social and relationship challenges
-
Feeling overwhelmed or misunderstood
-
Support during EHCP assessments or reviews
Counselling can complement the support already provided by families, schools, and other professionals.

Working Alongside EHCPs
The Listening Path offers emotional wellbeing support that can sit alongside existing EHCP provision.
This may include:
-
Emotional support for children and young people with SEND
-
Helping young people express their feelings about school or learning
-
Supporting confidence, communication, and resilience
-
Providing insight that may contribute to wider support discussions where appropriate
Counselling does not replace educational or clinical services, but can strengthen emotional wellbeing and support engagement with learning.
